Geology
A segment of the Coastal Batholith outcrops in the area showing gold – copper mineralization in veins as part of the mineralization of the porphyry stripe from the Upper Cretaceous represented by Zafranal, Chalhuane, Angostura and other porphyries located SE of Mama Clara. Gold mineralization occurrences are shown in veins of various thickness and Au concentration whose association depends on a Cu zoning. This mineralization has evolved during intrusion stages of the upper Cretaceous (porphyritic andesite, quartz monzonite and basaltic andesite dikes). It may be inferred as a stockwork system of structures than may enclose a main body in depth defined by these same structures.
