Location
The Benedickt Johannes Project is located in Cachani / Sanagoran District,Cajabamba/Sanchez Carrión Province, Cajamarca / La Libertad Department, 215 km from Trujillo city. The zone is moderately rough with elevation differences from 2400 to 3900 m.a.s.l. resulting in hillocks, hills and hillsides of Andean orientation, crossed by ravines from NW to SE (Benedik 2010 and Benedicktyoly2B) and from SW to NE (Benedickt-Johannes).

Geology
The oldest outcropped sequence is part of Chimu Formation from Lower Valanginian age and is composed of quartzose sandstone of locally friable, cracked, and whitish mediumsized grain with thin intercalations of lutite. In some stretches, sandstones change into a little more compacted quartzite. They generally occur in 0.5 to 1 m layers forming horizonpackages of up to 10 m. They are easily spotted for their relief forming hills, hillsides, and cliffs with anticline and syncline folding. Quartzose sandstone form stripes of over 5 km long and 0.5 km wide that are usually crumpled with an Andean trend from N45° to 55°W and dislocated by NW-SE and NE-SW system faults. It belongs to a regional metallotect when in contact with intrusive rocks turning favorable for gold mineralization occurrence.
